Basic information
Odzaci municipality is located in the northwestern Serbia, West Backa District, covering the area of 411.15 km ². It is surrounded by the municipalities of Apatin, Sombor, Kula, Vrbas, Backa Palanka and Bac. The Danube makes the western border of the municipality, which is also the state border with Croatia. The area is populated by 35,582 people of various nationalities and religions. The most numerous are Serbs, Hungarians, Slovaks, Roma and Croats.
The only urban center of the municipality is Odzaci with its 9940 inhabitants. The settlements around the town arranged in a radial pattern are: Karavukovo, Deronje, Srpski Miletic, Bogojevo, Bački Brestovac, Bački Gracac, Ratkovo and Lalic.
Odzaci and its surrounding villages are connected with regional and local roads. An easy way to travel around is by train running from Novi Sad via Ratko, Odzaci, Karavukovo and Bogojevo, where the rail line branches off to Sombor and the border crossing with Croatia.
